Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) is all about using data to answer questions and uncover insights. But before you can start analyzing the data, it’s important to ask yourself: “Do I have the right data to answer this question?”
Think of it like baking a cake. If you want to make a chocolate cake, you need the right ingredients, like flour, sugar, and cocoa powder. If you don’t have the right ingredients, your cake won’t turn out the way you want it to.
Similarly, if you want to answer a question using data, you need the right data. If you don’t have the right data, you won’t be able to answer the question accurately.
For example, if you want to know how many hours of TV kids watch per week, you need to have data on how much TV they actually watch. If you don’t have that data, you won’t be able to answer the question.
Starting EDA by asking, “Do I have the right data to answer this question?” is important because it helps you make sure you’re on the right track before you start analyzing the data. It saves time and helps you avoid drawing the wrong conclusions. So, just like you need the right ingredients to bake a cake, you need the right data to answer questions with data analysis.
