Treating data as an asset to the organization is a key output of our data management strategy. Making QuantHub available to the entire enterprise helps provide understanding of the pertinence of data and allows for the potential for greater use case development of analytics in the future.

I’m a mechanic in maintenance. We do, you know, generator UPS and HVAC work. The biggest thing for me is that before QuantHub I didn’t understand data. Now I look at data and wonder is that real data? Is that something that’s been skewed or tampered with? Until I started learning about data and then I started seeing that it is everywhere, I now know why we need to be proficient and accurate in what we do.

The Data literacy program helped me to better communicate with the data scientists on my team and the detection engineers. I was able to better understand the kinds of troubles they were encountering. I didn’t realize with machine learning that if it unattended, we don’t know how it is getting its data. And for cybersecurity, it is really important to understand how those models are achieving their outcomes. QuantHub turns you into someone who’s data literate, understanding of data and it’s role.

I kind of had a general understanding of how I use data in my current role and it’s important to use and source it correctly. But I feel like I was kind of limited in my understanding of how I could possibly improve those skills and I feel like QuantHub was a really good natural thing to bring in… there was a wide variety of topics in what was covered. No matter how experienced someone was, I feel like they would learn something new.
